Summary

This study explores the antecedents of market entry strategy in emerging markets and examines the market environmental, transaction-specific, competitive strategic factors and organizational capability that influence the choice of market entry mode. Empirical results based on a survey of Japanese companies support the combined relevance of their factors on choice of market entry mode in an emerging market. Although most of the mode of entry research assumes that the firm has the option to choose any entry mode in a given market, this study examines the impact of the factors in the internationalization process of firms. The results suggest that experiential knowledge has an immense impact on the choice of entry mode in China, an emerging market with high environmental uncertainty, but also high market potential. The empirical findings also show the important influences of risk-absorption capability and risk-dispersion mechanism on the choice of entry mode into the Chinese market.  相似文献

Abstract

This study examined motivation, inhibitors, and facilitators of association members in attending international conferences. A survey questionnaire was used to measure the importance of those factors in influencing the subjects during the conference attendance decision process. The study revealed that opportunities for travel to overseas destinations, outdoor recreation, business or political activities, change of pace, networking, and education were important factors which motivated the respondents in attending international conferences. Perceived risks of safety, inconvenience, and unfamiliarity with overseas destinations, distance, time, money, health problems, and possible security problems of overseas destinations inhibit people from attending conferences. The respondents considered deals on overseas travel packages, opportunities to do activities with family at overseas destinations, and costs covered by their employer as important factors that facilitate their attendance at international conferences.  相似文献

This study tackles the dilemma of a technology-based service improvement wherein an organization performs a technology change to improve its service process, while its customers do not necessarily perceive the new service as an improvement. The empirical research follows a healthcare provider that changed its primary care provider appointment scheduling using a new call centre technology. The methodology involves three processes reflecting the entire change: personal interviews, focus groups, and surveys. To facilitate adoption of a technology-based service, it is recommended that there be a focus on customers’ experience with similar service industries’ image, and organizational policies on contracting service representatives.  相似文献

Knowledge is considered an essential resource in a company’s internationalization process, both from the sequential point of view and from the perspective of International Entrepreneurship. This paper proposes a model to integrate the influence of knowledge on international behavior based on proposals taken from the literature on organizational learning in multinational companies. The model comprises several phases: prior knowledge; acquisition of new knowledge; integration of both sets of knowledge; action and feedback. Classic put-call symmetry relates the prices of puts and calls at strikes on opposite sides of the forward price. We extend put-call symmetry in several directions. Relaxing the assumptions, we generalize to unified local/stochastic volatility models and time-changed Lévy processes, under a symmetry condition. Further relaxing the assumptions, we generalize to various  asymmetric  dynamics. Extending the conclusions, we take an arbitrarily given payoff of European style or single/double/sequential barrier style, and we construct a conjugate European-style claim of equal value, and thereby a semistatic hedge of the given payoff.  相似文献
